Next to “growth,” “video” was the word of the day at Avaya’s 2011 Americas Partner Conference in Las Vegas this week. Perhaps because the company sees video as one of its biggest opportunities to enable growth.
ChannelBuzz.ca sat down with Joe Sigrist, the company’s new head of its video practice, at the reseller conference. On the table: the size and scale of the opportunity the company sees for video amongst its partner base; how Sigrist plans to build a channel to meet that opportunity; the possibility of a data/AV convergence of the like of the voice/data merge of years past; and how the company sees its approach as differentiated from the video strategy of major rival Cisco Systems.
