QuickVid: Intel’s system builder plans for Ultrabook

NEW ORLEANS – Intel had a lot on display at its Intel Solutions Summit event here this week, but first and foremost amongst the technologies the chipmaker was promoting to partners was the Ultrabook.

The company outlined its plans to extend the Ultrabook concept from the select few major manufacturers building products today and into the hands of more system builders, white-box designers and systems integrators.

I sat down with CJ Bruno, president of Intel Americas, to discuss the company’s Ultrabook strategy for the channel, the similarities to its last big push and campaign in the mobile space with Centrino, and the role the Ultrabook will play in the consumerization of IT and BYOD movements. Here’s what he had to say.

Also be sure to check out part one of my video interview with Bruno, where he tackles some of the biggest growth opportunities (outside of the Ultrabook) he sees for the company’s partners.
