Channelnomics and ChannelBuzz Joins Forces

Despite geographic proximity and strong economic ties, the United States and Canada are two distinct technology markets and channels. And while there’s overlap in media coverage, vendors and solution providers appreciate global channel news and local analysis.

That’s why Channelnomics, a publication of The 2112 Group, and ChannelBuzz.ca, a leading Canadian channel blog, are joining forces to create a U.S.-Canada channel media network.

ChannelBuzz.ca’s media and content operations will be folded into Channelnomics, the third-largest channel media site in North America and published by 2112. ChannelBuzz.ca’s owner and editor Robert Dutt will join the 2112 – the leading channel consulting, research and strategic content firm — and Channelnomics team as senior editor and staff analyst.

“ChannelBuzz.ca is an exceptional media site that has provided Canadian vendors and solution providers insightful and analytical views of channel news and trends. The addition of ChannelBuzz.ca to the 2112 network will expand our respective readerships, add new dimension to our content and professional services, and enable us to directly serve the Canadian channel market,” said Diana Mirakaj, director of business development at The 2112 Group.

ChannelBuzz.ca was founded in 2010 by Dutt, a well-known and respected Canadian channel and technology journalist. Under Dutt’s direction, ChannelBuzz.ca has grown into a widely read and respected source of channel news in Canada as well as the United States. For Channelnomics, a site founded in 2010, Canada is the third-largest readership market; the combination of Channelnomics and ChannelBuzz.ca will make 2112 a top news and analysis site for the Canadian channel community.

“I’m excited to join the 2112 team and extend ChannelBuzz.ca’s content and capabilities with our new partners to the Canadian market. Together, we have the resources and reach to expand and better service the total North American market,” said Dutt.

Channelnomics and ChannelBuzz.ca will begin syndicating content in April, and will work to integrate management and products through 2013. 2112 will gradually extend sales, marketing and strategic development support to ChannelBuzz.ca.

“We’ve known Rob and his site for a long time and have a tremendous respect for his audience and customers. We believe our combined capabilities will enhance the benefit to our mutual and respective accounts and readers,” said Lawrence M. Walsh, president & CEO of The 2112 Group.

ChannelBuzz.ca joins a growing network of 2112 syndication and strategic partners, including CRN UK (an Incisive Media publication), Channel Partners magazine (a Virgo Publishing publication), Channel Marketing Report, Market-Bridge and Qube Learning.
