SAP top partner Projexia grows by acquiring Forgestik’s SAP Business ByDesign practice

The Montreal-based SAP integrator adds to the largest SAP Business ByDesign ERP practice in Canada by acquiring the Canadian customers of fellow SAP partner Forgestik.

LOGO_PROJEXIA_SAP_Reseller_RGBMontreal-based Projexia, which was named SAP’s top reseller in Canada in 2015 for both on-premise and cloud solutions, has made a significant move to grow its business further. The company has acquired all the Canadian-based SAP Business ByDesign clients of fellow SAP partner Forgestik.

“We are already the number one SAP partner in Canada, and the Canadian leader in SAP Business ByDesign, and we are solidifying this,” said Sylvie Dumas, Projexia’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With this we are acquiring customers, and getting even bigger.”

While Projexia is a relatively young company, being in business for six years, their SAP background runs much deeper than that.

“The partners who founded Projexia have worked as SAP consultants for over 20 years,” Dumas said. “This company has been founded and managed by SAP consultants.” They offer consulting services across the entire SAP portfolio.

Projexia has the largest staff of Business ByDesign consultants in Canada, which Dumas said will enable them to offer the acquired customers strong service and support.

“These are typical Business ByDesign customers, who we will be able to give superior services, because we already have a good critical mass of customers and a strong base of consultants,” she said.

Forgestik, which like Projexia is also an SAP Gold Partner, and was SAP’s Canadian partner of the year in 2011, has its head office in Montreal, but also has offices in Calgary and Vancouver as well as American customers. Their American practice is not affected by this transaction. Forgestik will also continue all its other business activities, including its strong SAP BusinessOne practice.

“The customers we are acquiring from Forgestik are located right across Canada, so the acquisition is very strategic in that sense,” Dumas said.

SAP BusinessByDesign sits between SAP BusinessOne and SAP Business All-in-One in SAP’s cloud ERP portfolio. Historically, it had been less successful than these other two solutions however, to the point where in 2014, rumors floated about that SAP would kill the title. Instead they decided to double down on it, moving it onto the SAP HANA platform, changing the go-to-market model to put the emphasis on selling through partners, focusing it more clearly on the upper mid-market, and giving it its own General Manager, Dr. Michael Schmitt. As a result, by last year, Business ByDesign had turned its fortunes around, and SAP now considers it to be a significant success.
