DH2i has adapted the technology from their core Smart Availabiilty offering for container management to solving a problem experienced by their customers. They are demonstrating it this week at the PASS Summit 2018 in Seattle.
The expansion of the DH2i-Microsoft relationship is around Linux, while the DH2i partnership with VMware now covers VMware’s cloud solutions as well as on-prem.
The new release of the DH2i DxE software also provides automatic Windows/Linux failover for SQL Server 2017 Availability Groups, automatic Windows/Linux failover cluster on AWS and Azure, and management and orchestration of generic Linux services, including native open source databases, with automatic failover.
DH2i partners with Rackspace to make its container management software available as a cloud offering for SQL. They see potential to expand with other cloud provider partners, and with other Microsoft software, and see it as a valuable managed service for their own partners.
