Last week’s announcements of an expanded relationship between AWS and Equinix are fundamental to a new strategy announcement that will [eventually] enable organizations to make connections between Equinix IBX data centres.
Equinix’s business has moved far beyond providing data centre power and space, and as their channel grows, they want it to be able to blend Equinix interconnect capabilities with their own solutions offerings.
The turnkey solutions are expected to build up Equinix’s base of MSP and VAR partners, something that has been a focus for the company this year. Equinix is especially interested in partners with strong Microsoft practices.
Ex-Rackspace channel chief Chris Rajiah also indicated that following a broad recruitment effort last year, which included mainly agents and referral partners, Equinix is focusing on adding key resellers this year, especially top Microsoft partners.
In addition to the FlashBlade, which becomes Pure’s new high end offering, the company also introduced the FlashArray//m10, a new entry level extension, to its FlashArray//m family, as well as several new FlashStack converged infrastructure solutions.
