Dell’s channel business did very well in the first quarter of their new year. At this stage though, there is still no definite clarity on the channel implications of assets entering Dell – and exiting it, with the SonicWALL divestiture.
While advances in technology today provide a stronger opportunity than ever to disrupt attacks, that requires having the right systems in place. Siloed systems, and limited use of the new technologies hurt here. So does the failure of many companies to have a proper incident response plan, which can cut breach costs significantly.
In what is likely the most exciting of the announcements so far at HPE Discover, HPE announces two converged EdgeLine devices, as well as the ability to use their Vertica Big Data solution and functionality from their Aruba secure wi-fi system in IoT devices. New IoT partnerships and IoT Innovation Labs were also announced.
Seclore, which is India-based, has been making a large push in the North American market, and while they have been selling direct here, are just beginning to build out a channel. The OEM deal with Citrix is their largest to date, and will add significantly to their exposure, while filling what had been a security gap in ShareFile.
