Until now, Teridion has sold an Internet acceleration service to SaaS providers, and sold it mainly direct, but now they are launching a Cloud-based WAN service that will go entirely through partners, and has created a new channel program to support them.
Ex-Cisco veteran Bridget Bisnette has been formally announced as global Riverbed channel chief, along with a much more simplified – and very different – channel program aimed at penetrating lower into the enterprise and midmarket from Riverbed’s traditional sweet spot.
At their Partner Event. Riverbed highlighted the success of Kentucky-based Tier 3 Technologies, which transitioned from an on-prem VAR to a SteelFusion and SteelCentral-focused MSP in less than three years.
At Riverbed’s partner event, their Chief Strategy Officer outlined a complex and model-driven paradigm of how modern IT services are being transformed digitally, and his view of how the company and its partners need to respond. Interestingly, partners seemed to get it.
Silver Peak is reworking its channel program to better prepare partners for the SD-WAN market opportunity, which is much larger than traditional WAN optimization, and to assist them in making deployments which will be much less technical and complex than in WAN optimization.
Unity EdgeConnect, which builds on the Unity fabric Silver Peak announced last year, is a virtual network overlay which leverages broadband to connect users to applications, while also letting them retain their existing routers and firewalls and move to a broadband WAN at their own speed.
The new software-defined platform has 2.5 times more compute and ten times more storage than its predecessor, as well as software enhancements that improve security and speed up provisioning and recovery times.
Talari is particularly looking to add and support partners who will wrap services around their solution, something they think can serve as a focus area of a solution provider’s practice for the next decade.
The new Riverbed-Ready program is for ISVs partners, and is designed to spur new and more full featured solutions which cover all the elements of Riverbed’s Application Performance Platform, but solution provider partners are also expected to benefit significantly.
Unlike traditional WAN optimization solutions, Unity’s ability to keep Cloud SaaS and IaaS traffic on the same fabric lets it intelligently route traffic to the public cloud over a secure, optimal path.
